AFO9...?

Post by Hiro The Dragon King » Mon Jun 09, 2008 6:58 pm

Does anybody have any information on Anime Festival Orlando 9 yet? There's nothing on there site that even mentions AMV except that when you buy Premium Seating you get premium seating in the AMV contest showing.

Anime Music Video Contest Rules
Anime Festival Orlando 9 August 15-17, 2008
Eric Wampner, Host
Version 2.0

These are the official rules for the AFO9 AMV contest. Please read these rules carefully, failure to follow the rules may result in your video entry/entries being disqualified. The contest host will be responsible for organizing and operating the contest and will be the final judge of rules compliance. If you have any questions you should email them to afoamv@animegaijin.org with “AFO9 AMV Contest” on the subject line.

1) Content: Video entries should consist of video footage at least 75% of animation in the Japanese style, a.k.a. “Anime” and an audio track 8 minutes or less. Videos that do not qualify can be presented for exhibition but will be not eligible to receive an award from the judges. Studio bumpers and on screen credits are discouraged, but not banned. Bumpers cannot be in excess of 15 seconds before and after the video (total time). Bumper length will be added to the video length in considering the 8 minute time limit. Do not use corporate trademarks, movie studio logos or “Movie Rating” images that would imply that your video was created or approved by a real company with real lawyers. Videos must be viewable by a general audience to be eligible for a judged award; that means a PG-13 rating at most. Please especially avoid scenes of sex, drugs, or alcohol use among characters that appear to be underage. DO NOT USE SUBTITLED SOURCE FOOTAGE unless the subtitle is part of your video. You will not be allowed in the judged contest.

2) Awards: Judged awards will be given for Best Drama/Romance, Best Comedy/Parody, Best Action, and Best of Show. Additional awards are TBD.

3) Eligibility: You must be pre-registered as an AFO9 attendee to participate in this contest. The person submitting the video must have directly been responsible for the creation of the video. Any videos submitted by staff of AFO9 or the AMV judges are not eligible for a judged award. General volunteers are not considered staff in this case.

4) Number of submissions: We will accept up to 3 entries from each contestant. Additional entries may be submitted for exposition (they will not be judged). If you submit more than one video, please rank the videos in the unfortunate event that we have to limit the contest due to a large number of entries.

5) Additional: The Host of the AFO9 AMV contest and/or the Chairperson of AFO reserves the right to reject any video for any reason, including, but not limited to: content, video quality, video content, sound quality and time constraints. The decisions of the Host and/or Chairperson are final.
