Well, let's get this going. Many of you knew this one was coming, so now is as good a time as any.
Kevin Caldwell - Believe
Vintage: 2000
Anime: Battle Athletes Daiundoukai
Music: Franka Potente - Believe
This AMV, for many, defines the transition of AMVs from their classic roots to a more sophisticated form. Kevin Caldwell (Kevin Caldwell's AMV Profile), during his time making AMVs, continuously pushed the limits of what was possible in the early years, and his work can still stand among the best modern AMVs. Some of the most early dramatic AMVs included his videos Sleep Now, Media Vita In Morte Sumus, and Goldeneye. He practically invented the lipsynch video with Engel. All of his videos are quality works, worthy of viewing by any AMV lover. I feel that a lot of people know and have seen his vids, but there may be a large group of new editors who have not.
So hey, now you' might understand some of the Kevin Caldwell jokes that pop up now and again, such as the "Kevin Caldwell" segment in AMV Hell 3.
And for those who have already seen his vids, now is a good time to watch them again, because honestly, some of them don't really ever get old. (Caffeine Encomium, anyone?)
And I am posting t his from work, and spent way too much time on it.
