Issues with Upload server?

Post by Angelic_Sabyne » Sat May 31, 2008 5:17 pm

I'm having trouble connecting to the Kero server. I had done it just fine about an hour or two ago, but it timed out while waiting for my file to upload and didn't upload it correctly. Now, when I try to access Kero via FileZilla with the information provided to me, I get the following:
Status: Resolving IP-Address for kero.animemusicvideos.org
Status: Connecting to 69.26.178.19:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server
It will do this 2 or 3 times, then give up. I've tried exiting FileZilla and restarting it, even tried rebooting my computer. No dice. So, any suggestions are appreciated. :)

next time, please do a little searching first. There's 8 other threads on uploading problems on this page alone.

that said...

after that, if you're still having trouble try typing your username and password very carefully (slow and deliberate keystrokes)
for some reason, the 'ol copy/paste tends to not work (at least not for me)

if you're not using passive mode you may want to give that a try (edit-settings-firewall settings)

Thanks for the attempt, but I'd already seen that and attempted all those steps prior to posting this thread. Had any of them worked, I wouldn't really be here, now would I? ;)

You'd be surprised - seems like over half of the people passing through here don't grasp the concept of looking around for answers before posting. Which is why If you're not a regular, and you didn't specify that you did, it's assumed you didn't.

As for the problem - it might be a temporary site issue. If you end up seeing about 3 more threads with the same problem in the next few hours i'd say that's most likely the case.

I guess I'm the polar opposite of most then. I tend to try things first, then start a new thread asking for help. (And I hope to become more of a regular, though I tend to be a bit forum-shy, so I don't necessarily post tons in the forums.)

I think I'll leave the Upload alone until morning and see if it won't play nice with me then. Until then, I have some other AMV-related stuffs to sift through. Thanks for the input. :)

(And OT, your icon is win and awesome to the tenth power. :D )

I know my issue was solved with just a computer restart since I apparently closed a process that was needed for FileZilla to work. I was getting a simular message from Filezilla.

Well, on a whim I went ahead and logged into FileZilla using the info for my video upload. Looks like everything's working fine. Apparently, Kero was just being ornery yesterday.

Thanks everyone for their input. :)

Sigh...I seem to be having the same problem...I even turned off my firewall and I got the same results...I don't know if it's just the server that's causing it, hopefully I can find a solution to this problem.

This is what it says:

Status: Resolving IP-Address for Kero.AnimeMusicVideos.org
Status: Connecting to 69.26.178.19:21...
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Waiting to retry...

It doesn't seem to be able to connect. Are you entering your info properly? As someone mentioned above, careful if you're copying-pasting as it tends not to work - and that is because when you copy-paste you copy a space at the end of the line along, just type out the info to make sure.

Yea, I tried all that, made sure to re-type it and everything. It still didn't work...I just had to resort to using IE, but thanks anyways.
