Midori Days: Caught Up In You (Little Girl)

Post by WesW » Sat May 31, 2008 7:09 am

This vid is a fun romantic comedy about a guy who wakes up one day and finds that there is a doll-sized girl where his right hand used to be. It turns out that she has had a crush on him for some time, and eventually he comes to feel the same way about her.
The vid starts out kinda heavy, as the song starts out with the couple on the verge of breaking up. Once we flash back to when she appeared attached to him, both the song and the vid pick up and stay that way until the conclusion, when we flash forward to the present, and they are going out on a date.

Audio notes: I don't know where this song was recorded, but it must not have been a first-rate studio. The song is in 320kbps clarity, but you may need to turn it up a bit so that the vocals aren't too low.

Credits note: I tried to change things up a bit in the credits by replacing the usual red and black with green and yellow, since midori means green in Japanese, and so is Midori's hair. It kinda blends into the pic, but if you really want to know the info it gives, it's all listed on this page.

I need to give a shout-out once again to Autraya, Mystery Woman of the Outback, this time for educating me on the track matte effect and how to use it.

If the video won't play, get this codec pack.

Aw, that was cute :3
Simple and sweet, i liked it 3/5

but i think maybe people who haven't seen midori no hibi won't think the clips with the funny faces would work, but they do if u know what's going on in the scene i guess.

I'm glad that you guys like the vid. If you like it, though, you need to give it more than a 3. Right now, the vid has a score of 3.16, which puts it in the bottom 15% of all vids on this site. Is this what you think this vid deserves?
Imo, when you score a vid, you need to score it based upon how well the song and vid go together, and whether or not the creator succeeded in telling the story or concept he was aiming for, not on how fancy the vid is or how many fx it has.
In other words, even a "simple" vid should be eligible to receive a 4 or even a 5.

Eh, everyone has their own rating method. for me it's:
1=fail
2=has potential
3=liked
4=really liked
5=near perfect

So if people like a video, it's entirely possible for it to only get a three by my standards. And i don't see any problem with that. If it's higher then 3, that means it got a 4 or two, which means some people REALLY liked it, that's a good thing.
And don't worry about star avgs, if a videos good people will watch it. Getting obsessed with stars and ops won't make your videos more enjoyable, just have fun and fiddle around. :D

No, editing is most important and technical side, also quality than rest.

It's good to see the continued positive response to the vid, and thanks to those of you who upped your initial rating of the vid. I'm just looking for an average rating, which is about 3.4-3.5. Given that some people aren't going to think that the vid's anything special, for one reason or another, it takes 4's or 5's from those of you who "get it" in order to achieve the 3.4. That's all I'm asking for, not to make it into the top 10% or anything.
