Yea, I noticed when i submitted stuff in the past, the system seems deceptively designed - like judges could judge independently of one another at any time in the weeks leading up to the con. They don't seem to do that though.

Well, as with any chaotic system, it evolves over time. Generally we hold a judges meeting on the weekend before the convention - like yesturday - and while some of us do show up, not everyone is available so they get a copy of all the submissions to view at home and submit their scores by Wednesday.

In spite of the "close time" we had this year getting the website up and all, we got a surprising amount of entries which made the cut. Plus we learned a lot more of what we could/should do next year.

How am I gonna know if my AMV made the cut? Will there be an e-mail going out to those who have and have not made the cut?

This is actually a lot more than most cons offer their judges - very snazzy.

That's all explained (several times I think) on the site.

It may have escaped some people but there is a Master Listings page on our website you can check. It lists the submissions we got by judging time so some videos may get cut after all the tallies are in (I recognize a few on there they were already dropped for one reason or another). It should be finalized before convention time.

Emails do go out to those creators whose videos had problems, didn't follow directions (you'd be surprised) or just didn't make the minimum score from the judges.

TwilightChrono, your entry was the full-motion video Hack//G.U. Trilogy, correct? I remember we were all very impressed by that piece but I think you entered it under "Experts" or "Fans". We decided it was best to move to "Fanworks" due to the nature of your footage using all 3-D animation. But don't worry, you're still in good company - the other 3-D animation videos we got are also quite impressive.

Alrighty. Thank you so much. I appreciate the Info, as I will be attending. If I recall right, I entered it into the Fans Exhibition (Sorry if that caused any trouble). Anyway, I'll check those listings. There werent any problems with the upload I hope. Because the FTP froze up at times during the upload, so I wasn't sure if it had problems on your end or not.

Is there something wrong with the comments section? I have 6 of 7 judges voting with only one comment that essentially says "this judge didn't leave a comment." Now, unless the judge was being a smart ass, I should have 6 comments that say the above or something else.

I know this comment thing is a favor you're doing for the contestants, but it defeats the purpose (and undermines the amount of time and effort the judges may have put into commenting on things) if you only can see the last comment and all the judges vote within 30 minutes of one another like they seem to have done.
