Entering something into the database, I couldn't halp but notice how much crap is in the anime listings database.
I mean, it's not the non-anime that really bugs me but its the dumb-ass spelling error ones like "Kurouni Kenshin" or "Litus and Yuna" (which by the way should be under FFX).
And also you may want to put things into sub-categories....for example like put all the DBZ sagas and movies all under one major category and go from there.
And also do something about the aliases. Do either one or the other. People are smart enough to figure it out....well hopefully most of them are.
I think this will lessen confusion and conflicts while searching and doing other various tasks. So yeah, a suggestion that I'm sure many people want.

Phade if you need any help cleaning those up I have plenty of time to do so. Cause it honestly bothers me how many mistakes we have in there including the two or three spellings of Neon Genesis Evangelion lurking in the database as well as two listings for DBZ.

Hey,
The problem comes as to what to do with bad entries. The information has to be corrected throughout the database in a way that doesn't break the entries. I want to make an admin tool so that people can enter a correction and then I confirm the correction. When the correction is confirmed, the admin script will change all referrences to the entry throughout the site automatically. Once this tool is written, anyone can suggest corrections through the "bugs" page.
Now the tool needs to be written...

out of cureosity, what happened to the list that was circulating around that contained duplicate names??
it might be useful to give the mods the right to fix duplicate names. so you don't have to waist ur time with it.
in addition i remember reading in the to do list that you need to create a way to find out who creates the various catogories, ect. how about you create a function that will record the creator of the listing, and if it is one like various, you can know who made it.
