I find that there really isn't anything original anymore these days, and I've accepted that.
In terms of reviewing, I usually knock off points when ideas are used that have been beated with a stick so severely, that they are naught but a mush of putty.
For example: I find any sentimental/romance 5 CM video to be unoriginal by this point. Same goes with linkinballz videos and thegirlthatleaptthroughtime videos.

The Law of Ueki is still a highly Un-used Anime for AMV's, and the anime is so good.
Ar Tonelcio as far as I know have never been used, although it was released as an OVA to the game: Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia, the animation put into the anime style cut-scenes of the game and OVA are astonishing, and it's a shame they haven't been used.
Frankly, I have just listed 2 examples of Anime's that are rarely if not at all used in the AMV society. Same as a person breathes.....does not every anime have it's day?
Hehe, sorry, couldn't resist. But...my point remains valid.

Originality is when you describe the idea of your video to people and their reaction is 'WTF? Is it even possible to pull that off?'
For the org though I've lowered my expectations, around here originality is something I haven't seen done in at least 20 other videos already. Even by that much lowered expectation, there still ain't much originality around here.

what i was saying, chiistalker, is that even if i use an artist that no one has seen before, if the concept is unoriginal the amv will be unoriginal.
and for the quote changer, you can state your own formulaic opinions all you want, just please don't "fix" or think that you are being "clever" by changing what you think mine should be. I'm very good about stating my own opinions thank you very much, and it annoys the fuck out of me when someone tries to "fix" what I am saying when it's not their opinion to "fix".
