interlacing

i have no problem ripping 4 dvds i need for amvs in the works, rather i have a different problem. the interlacing on the dvds is terrible, to the point my normal de-interlacing still gives you obvious lines of interlacing. any suggestion on getting this rather bad interlacing dealt with software wise?

i have a mac and a pc, but do not have ulimited funds to buy a copy of adobe premiere or something for my pc. i am stumped on how to rid these dvds of the problem.

a dvd i bought last night, geneon really badly interlaced this title and another i wanna use for amvs.

Let me rephrase. What is the name of the source in question?

Further, what specific deinterlacing methods have you tried? Being evasive makes answering you harder.

oh, i wasnt sure what ya meant. the title in question is interlude. it was weird as pioneer didn't have as bad of encoding on the lain dvds when i used them.

...blast you amv for not having an "Edit button" but anyhow the normal de-interlace filters in FCP dont do anything, and i don't have premiere, or what not...so i don't know what can get this interlacing solved.

Most of the deinterlacing methods we commonly use are discussed here.

However, you mention Final Cut Pro, so I suspect anything involving AVIsynth is useless to you.

i do have vdub, and a few programs on my pc it doesn't get alot of that kinda stuff due to win xp and its memory limits.

Uh. What?

32-bit XP can handle three gig and change of memory. It's perfectly possible to edit with that.

it works alot better on my g5 with 6gb of ram though. also thank you for the link btw, will have to see if any of that rids me of the really nasty interlacing.
