Don't hold your breath for that one, the mods and site programmers really don't want this to turn into the next boobtoob. People have suggest similar things and got shut down pretty quick.

Unfortunetly, yep, I do this.

When I see editors I'm in love with, I am usually hoping for something amazing to add to my collection.

I usually give newcoming editors a chance, however. For example, a few weeks/months ago, I found a really cute Haruhi vid known as Rebel Girl. Sure, the quality wasn't astounding, but it was still really cute. What I liked the most about it was that it tried to go outside the box. Unfortunely, because she wasn't well known, her announcement thread didn't get more than 1 page of posts. Not long ago, she posted another video, thi time a 5 CM video that was also unique and interesting.AGain, she didn't get much of a response to her video. It's stuff like that that really get to me at times.

Therefore, in order to make things "fair" I usually download everything in the AMV Announcements that looks even remotely promising, and comment if/when I have the time. Then again, even that is biased, because I usually ignore Naurto/Bleach/Akira videos, and I usually hate the audio chosen. XD

In the end though, I think it's all down to taste and how fast your computer can download a video. :O

ARGH! I HATE KANJI! I can only read 日本 (Nihon) and that's it! But I can read all the hiragana and katakana but only a select few kanji. But I think you guys are saying

I'm simply not watching the video, and many other raw materials for thought."

"The Japanese know that!
It surprise!"

I had to look up the kanji in my dictionary from japanese class...

...mostly for less-known editors. I realize there are probably TONS of gems out tehre that don't get a second look while we (myself included) shower the attention to those who are known to do good work...even if it's not that as good as what well...gave us those huge expectations.

To be honest (and yeah I guess I'm a dick), I've seen plenty of videos by 'well-known' editors that I found quite boring or average and yet people loved them. I imagine the same could be said of some of my work and well...that's normal.

Different strokes for different folks...although they forgot to add that some folks have an inherent advantage I guess.

私 = Watashi. Now you know another!

Not that this has anything to do with the topic at hand... which I am sure I had an opinion on, but I seem to have lost it. :/

hmmm.

I was actually pretty surprised at the response that my Kagami vid got...in terms of effort, there wasn't too much put into that vid. People just seem to really like it and I have no idea why.

G_Q approached me about doing a "copy" video, I thought that would be fun to see. All in all, I was very flattered and I thought he did a really good job with it (despite not taking some advice I gave him to maybe cut it a bit faster :3).

I just make Amv's for fun.

I can still upload them to youtube and get many "omg is that cool !"

It's just how the world is.
Its almost guaranteed to be something good if you already know the creator has done some kickass amv's in the past.
However, it depends on the Song or Anime if I watch an amv's that's from a newbie.
Spoiler :

Reminds me of this person said. I will not give you it's name so sry.
Spoiler :
can't believe i'm taking a guy07 thread seriously
"Mexicanjunior used to make extremely simple and pointless videos (windows movie maker 1.0 videos) and people called them "refreshing" and "light" because he was a nice guy, a nice *popular* guy. If anyone else makes videos like that they're called "simple" and "lazy" and you get complaints about the lack of eye-burning effects. Fluxmeister used to make fast random action vids with nothing but straight cuts and people raved about the "economical sync" and how well he "knew his anime" to get editing like that without effects. If someone else makes the same video they're bashed for using flashes and hard cuts and told they're repetitive and lazy for not having more variety in their editing style.

It's all hypocritical. If a popular editor makes a simple video, it's refreshing and "oldschool" - but if a new/unpopular editor makes it, then it's lazy and simple. It's always been that way here. It's not the video, it's the person making them. If they don't like you, they'll never like anything you make."

I know now alot of people are going to say that this is really my thoughts. But those who probably know me would know better than that. Since you know, I'm popular and all. <.<
