Does any video-editing software support mkv files?

Post by merin_minamino » Wed Apr 16, 2008 12:20 am

Does anyone know if there is a program that does? Or do I just have to convert my mkv files?

I tried Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, and even Windows Movie Maker and none of them seem to recognize the file...

As far as I know, nothing does. You'll have to convert them. Unfortunately, I'm assuming you're on a Mac, and I have no idea how you would convert them on a Mac. If you have a Windows machine, you can use VirtualDub to transcode the files.
... yea ...

Magix Pro 14 does .. Magix Pro 12 understood the H264 part.

.mkv is not a Standard .. so, don't expect too much.
