I really wanted to read all that im stuff, I really did, but I couldn't get myself to read beyond a few sentences.
Maybe if yall discussing stuff with audio involved, that would be cool. Do a IM with mics.. honestly. I rather people try to be funny through a mic than through text. I find it more entertaining.

It's funny, when Quadir got onto skype with a bunch of us after a review session, some people said they preferred him that wayx_rex30 wrote:

It would be a different kind of review, to be sure.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Here's a perfect example of the real reason posting logs is a bad idea, that people will see a huge log and assume it's case closed. It's not. You can continue the discussion, and you're supposed to show up next week damnit.x_rex30 wrote:I really wanted to read all that im stuff, I really did, but I couldn't get myself to read beyond a few sentences.

23:19 (snip) I actually agree with everything quadir says.

One problem with audio chat is that the loudest voices easily drown out the quieter ones. In IRC that doesn't happen (or rather, you type in caps too much and you get kicked out). It's a more level playing field. It's also less intimidating, for a variety of reasons.
"Live" chat is also even MORE susceptible to un-thought out discussion. At least with IRC one has (theoretically) time to think carefully about what one wants to say, figure out the best way to say it and revise what they say if it doesn't come out right.
Erm, oh yeah, and online conferencing is almost impossible for poor souls on dial-up.
Don't get me wrong, I have usually have a great time in live chat, but I'm not sure that's the best setting for #review.

In any setting you have the capacity to think before you speak. If you don't then it's technically your own fault.

You can have both, post an audio version/text version together. Hell sounds more fun to me if you do it that way. Those who want to chat about it on a mic, those who don't use text. Seems easy enough.DriftRoot wrote:One problem with audio chat is that the loudest voices easily drown out the quieter ones. I apparently have damaged my Language production centers ...Fall_Child42 wrote:What if you had suffered brain damaged and your inhibitors, prefrontal cortex I believe...JaddziaDax wrote:In any setting you have the capacity to think before you speak. What that is supposed to say is
"What if you had suffered some sort of brain trauma and damaged the sections dealing with inhibitions, which, I believe is the prefrontal cortex"

Todd, that has nothing to do with the setting, but the mental damages/issues that one might have.
