Interlacing question.

Post by Vivaldi » Sun Apr 27, 2008 6:07 pm

Well, I have an irritating problem. One have my sources is a raw, (not out where I live, and sorry but I'm not ordering from out of country) Anyway, I converted the original Xvid file to lagirath, And since I didn't run it through DGIndex, I didn't any information on if the frames were interlaced. So I just decided to look through the frames in Vdub-mod, fortunetly, I didn't see any interlacing or blended frames or anythnig like that. I then assumed it was progressive. (this was a theatricly released movie). However, when I exported and rendered the amv for a beta, I got scenes like these:

As you can see the main interlacing from the first one is from an overlay I put in (though it's from the same source)
However I haven't done anything to the second pic.

I did set my field order to progressive scan when I rendered.
Does anyone have any idea what's causing this? Or more importantly, how to fix it?

Btw, when I do find raw xvid avi's with interlacing or blended fields, Can they be fixed with an avisynth script, or are they pretty much stuck that way?

Thanks.

T_T sorry, can't beleve I forgot that.

I'm using sony vegas 6.0, my render settings are:

29.970 (NTSC)
Field order, progressive
Interleave every (seconds):0.250
Video format, NTSC DV *I didn't notice the video format when I first rendered it, but it appears to just be avi. I'll save as uncompressed next time*
Size: 720x480
