It may be because you do not meet the Recommended Eligibility: Previous award winner in an AMV contest.
There is a Confimation button you must select before enrollment to the Experts' Exhibition contest.
I have not gone through the process myself, yet and I don't know why you have not had any email reply. I'll inquire myself if you still don't have any luck before the end of the week.

I submitted my entry on 04/23/08 via FTP and confirmed the upload but the status is still Pending Arrival. Is it supposed to take this long?

That usually means it's sitting on the server and hasn't been looked at yet. Yes, it takes time. I think some confirmations didn't go out until well after the deadline passed - just be sure you confirm your submission and we'll do the rest.

We have a good size number of submissions for each of the Events but we could do with a little more for the Experts Exhibition (if you can believe it). Deadline is Sunday, May 11th - Mother's Day - so there is still time people.

If you submitted via Regular MAIL, we had two postal mail submissions returned accidentally by the post office. The issue has been resolved and should not happen again. However, they will either need to be uploaded or re-mailed. In the event you need to resend your videos, you may send them as follows:

If you are one of these individuals, please email directly at vse@a-kon.com and let us know you are going to resend your video and Chris will ensure that it makes the contest showing.

As I pointed out, there is a Confimation button you must select before enrollment to the Experts' Exhibition. If you still cannot enter, please contact Chris and he will flag you for it.
