Guess that means you'll be shooting her, huh Mr. Oni?

Anyway, Wendee Lee is a very nice person and while I have heard that the Love Hina dub is very bad, I think it just shows that she was taking on more than she could handle. Some voice actors make great voice directors, because they've been on the other side. However... some just don't.

Wendee Lee does the voice of Faye Valentine and does an excellent job. I personally dislike dubs mostly, but Cowboy Bebop is the ONLY dub where I prefer the English OVER the Japanese... and there isn't another title that I have EVER said that about.

When I heard the dub of Kishin Corps, I just hated the whole show... and then I got to see it in Japanese a little later on... and found I really enjoyed the show. The dub was so bad, it made me dislike the show! I disagree with the concept that you like what you hear first.

I mean... some dubs so completely miss the point of the show that they do damage to the overall show itself.

Of course, there have been some good dubs... like Whispers of the Heart and Niea_7... but even with those... while I admit they are good dubs...I still prefer seeing them in original Japanese.

Yeah she should stick to voice acting and not doing 300 different voices in the same show either. If you get the love hina dvds there is a feature on the 3rd called the making of love hina. It has absolutely nothing to do with the making of the show just the horrible dubbing of the show. That is how I know she is responsible for the mess. I don't think I have any plans for shooting her though. Nor you Uncle milo just shooting you down occasionally. OH well Hey I got a shinobu doll with a bow in her hair I rule!!!!

Shooting me down?

Ha!

I haven't even been winged by you...

Around you, I feel like Wyatt Earp.

Furthermore, I know she is the voice director of Love Hina and I know the Love Hina dub is bad. That was part of what I was saying...

Furthermore... you can't blame her if she gets lots of work. I mean... look how many titles have been done by the Ocean Group and their cast of like...what? 15 people? People know they can get their dubbing done cheaper by sending it to Ocean Group and so they do. A lot of the companies don't care about quality... they know anime fans will buy anything anime, no matter how piss-poor the quality is... because they can get more money from you if they save on effort.

Sadly, the people who DO care about the quality are seldom in positions of power.

Jessica, who plays Excel in the English dub, was concerned about the impact of the fast release schedule on her vocal cords from day one. After finishing volume 3 (eps 10-13), the 2 week gap for rest doesn't seem to have been enough, and she was warned of the risk of permanent vocal damage. For various reasons, including fan pressure, ADV have taken the decision to re-cast the role, rather than slow down the release schedule. Below is an email sent by Jessica through her Excel Saga mailing list.
