Problems with Lagarith
Recently, I've been having problems with Lagarith. Whenever I try to export videos from my video editor, VDubMod, or try to convert them as Lagarith, the resulting file either has audio but no video, or the video ends up being only one second of black screen and no audio.
I have successfully been able to use this codec before and I haven't changed anything on my computer at all since the last time I've used it. I did try uninstalling and reinstalling the codec which did absolutely nothing. Any ideas?

by getting a better media player :/Spatula_Castle wrote:Okay...it seems that I CAN play the file normally, but only in Windows Media Player. For some reason, it won't play correctly in VLC even though it used to work just fine.
So the question now becomes: How do I get it to work in VLC again?
SMplayer (or any other mplayer variant) is a good choice, as is CCCP (which is actually a well constructed codec pack...includes media player classic)

Lagarith is a video for windows codec. VLC uses its own internal codecs to play files, so that is why it won't play the lagarith file. Similarly, mplayer and cccp will do absolutely nothing in regards to it.

Hmmm, well on a wiki I just looked at, it claimed that vlc DOES support lagarith now.
So, maybe either
1) you have an old version of vlc, or
2) vlc supported an old version of lagarith, and cant support the newest ones
Thats all I can think of.

I just tried updating my VLC player and that didn't work so it probably does only work with an older version of Lagarith. Plus it would explain why it seemed to just stop working for no reason (I don't remember updating the codec...but I don't remember a lot of things >_>).
Thank you for the help, Zarx
