When you initially watch a video, you don't know if you like or dislike something until after you see it, obviously, so there will be some lag between when someone sees things they like/dislike, and when they actually mark it. Depending on the pace of the video, this could be insignificant, or it could be quite detrimental to the whole idea.
Right, that's something that can be adjusted or put into perspective using commenting. for example, you thought a certain scene could be changed a bit, you can pause/comment in a textbox at the scene's end:
"the fade out was too slow up to this point"

Not seeing the point. If you want something with real time feedback abilities you run into the issue zarx mentioned. If you want something where the viewer pauses the video, types out remarks, and continue then we already have that. It's called notepad.

I totaly agree with godix. I don´t see future for it. It´s only marketing. If I would really consider such feeback, I would have to make a vid like Magic Pad with randomn
beautiful pictures.

It´s seams to be only for marketing researches and I bet that something like this already exists.

So a player with decrement, increment button, a textfield and an autosend button to the org´s data base. Meh...

We could combine this with a polygraph test for more accurate real time response.

You're right, this program doesn't necessarily need to be complicated. Instead of logging keys/actions, simply provide a GUI and format the information accordingly.

Something like this is pretty darn good:

So... what is the purpose of this again?
It looks way more cumbersome and time consuming than just telling the person.

It wouldn't be that hard to do...

but do you wanna do an appication that just registers keys while watching amv ?
as for flash, I've done various actionscript programms, and this would be a piece of cake to do. But wouldn't a player plugin be the best way ?

a standardized user feedback system that provides time-based commenting and numeric data that can be charted and displayed. as for what you do with the charts and graphs, that's something else.

indeed, if this were Flash, it would be a 30 minute task at max. as for plugins, there are a lot of video players out there; furthermore, it might be simpler to have a standalone program.

anyway, to recap:
the software will:

-editor box
--name of editor
-amv box
--name of amv
-time text box
--for manual entering of time
-time history list
--for editing previous comments
-comment box
--for comments
-history box
--displays in xml format the history of comments
-various buttons
--that do their own functions
-other stuff possibly
--scores/ratings

will this be betterthan notepad? certainly, by streamlining the process and formatting the data accurately, it'll be easier than the users doing that manually.

will it be better than using the current Org review system on the site?
1) there are times when you can't connect and access the internet; save your formatted review, upload at a later time.
2) batch uploads; upload several reviews at a time.
3) provides more time specific commenting

The one big problem I see with real time feedback:
If I watch a good amv, I shouldn't spend a second thinking about anything else while enjoying the video. If I watch a terrible one, I stop it after a at most half a minute.
More "helpful" would be a feedback system to tell after wich second the amv was stopped viewing. But regarding the many hurt feelings it would surely create, no, not really more helpful.
