D'espairsRay MEP [Interest Gauge]

Post by Flame-X » Wed Apr 09, 2008 11:43 pm

Ok, before I start doing one, is there anyone interested in doing a D'espairsRay MEP? I thought about having about 10-12 song segments, maybe around 30sec to a min long each. I'm gonna need at least 15 people interested before starting this project.

For those who don't know D'espairsRay, they're a Japanese industrial metal band formed in 1999 by Hizumi, Karyu, Zero and Tsukasa. They were one of the first visual kei bands to tour in Europe. Their music is pretty heavy, dark, sinister and schizophrenic with vocals sounding like an enraged demon to smooth melodious tones. They use a lot of synthesizers to boost their sound. Think of them as the darker and heavier version of Janne da Arc. :wink:
Here's some samples of their songs:

I´m interessted if you get in the right persons for an awesome MEP and if it gets finished. Sry, but I just don´t like to waste my time for mediocore MEPs. Ok this one has a bonus because it´s DeR. ;)

I remeber that I already got a MEP mix right after the Dir en Grey project. Was it from you or Alastor?

@Ghet:
never know till we try. :)

@Bauzi:
I know what you mean. the diru mep taught us a good lesson about that. the mix is probably from alastor, although his whereabouts are unknown at the moment.

@Aeri: Great! :D

@Bauzi: btw, do u still have the mix? apparently i never got it from alastor.

If i dont get more people interested in this project for a couple more weeks, then i guess we should drop this. :(

Alright here is the link. It took me longer to upload it, because I was really really busy the last days. Well...

Maybe some more people will discover theire music now.
To the mix itself,... I think some places are still rough in the mix (some songs could last for longer), but it was some kind of a beta. I like the intro. A songpart wich I really miss is the powerful piano intro from the song Hai to Ame.

If you need a cd rip: I have the original |Coll:set| record at home.

Mmm.. Ya some places are rough like the transition between "in vain" and "Dears". It does sound like a beta mix cuz the end felt incomplete. I can't believe he didn't put a single song from the MIRROR album (or maybe it wasn't out at the time when he mixed it). The overall mix sounds alright but I had something a little different in mind.

Anyways, here's what I was thinking about.

Intro: DAMNED

Segments(not in a particular order):
Closer to Ideal
Squall
Desert
MIRROR
ANGELDUST
SIXTY∞NINE
in vain
Garnet
[Fuyu Shita Riso]
Tainted World
kogoeru yoru saita hana
Hai to Ame

Outro/credits: Forbidden

I'm gonna need your feedback Bauzi. :)

In fact I only have [Coll:Set] at home ;P

Alright I managed to get Mirror too (320kbps). I´ll listen to it in the next days.
