Making my first amv - source video question

Post by sashe » Wed Apr 09, 2008 10:38 am

I think I have a really great song and ideas for an amv. My source anime has not been released in the us or english yet, but I've checked out rules to submit it to a couple of cons and know I cannot use fansubbed video. I found the anime for sale on ebay but I'm worried about the quality because the only anime I've bought from ebay came bootleg. It looked fine on my tv but I want it to look good enough to make it to the big screen. Can anyone offer advice on this? I don't know that I would be buying a bootleg I just think theres a good chance..

I'll second that. I have to give credit to it - it saved me from buying a bootleg a while back.

Ok thanks. Is there another place to buy real nodame cantabile dvds? Everything on ebay looks like bootleg.

<a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... ">DOKool's Import Service: He's In Japan So You Don't Have To Be</a>.

There's also japanese e-commerce sites. CD Japan is the only one I know offhand but I'm positive there are others. Now if they'll ship outside japan is an entirely different issue.

Just be prepared to pay obscene amounts of money for real R2 DVDs (not to mention shipping from Japan).

R2 means, to put it in simplified terms, that it's a japanese disc and american equipment can't play it. However computers can still rip it and you can use it in an amv.

And VLC will play it on your computer.
