Video Quality / Technical Aspects In AMV's : Discussion Line

Part of the main appeal of many (not all) AMVs is their visual appeal. Anime can be very viscerally pleasing when the editing and the visuals combine in just the right way. If your video looks like crap, you can miss out on this aspect.
Another thing, is it's just a matter of personal pride for me. When I watch one of my videos 5 years from now, I don't want to be thinking "man, that really looks like CRAP! I wish I had cleaned it up a little better!"

I guess I've never understood when people post a video and go "hey, this is my best video hands down, hope you love it because it owns, etc" and then post some crappy encode. I mean, why bother to spend all that time (or maybe they didn't) working on your masterpiece only to have it look like utter crap :/
