I have no clue how folklore sounds, but if you want drinkin irsh style, probably <i>'Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies'</i>, or anything else by them? <_<

not sure if its exactly what ur looking for, but

irish rovers - black velvet band

seems to fit the bill pretty closely, its about a guy who gets caught stealing and imprisoned then deported so bancrupcy sorta?
