I'd like to know when the hell stock footage became a 'preset'. Thats quite new to me. I'd also like to know why a video like this takes shit for it, and while something like NO's "Mad World" is still considered enjoyable, not to mention it doesn't take any wrath for using stock footage, when it clearly does. Granted this video is more in your face about it and seems to take a page from Decoys book on editing, however its undeniably fun to watch which is what seems to win this over for people.
As for the credits I enjoyed them. More so the song playing in the background however, obviously talking about Lights life...which I don't believe anyone mentioned in the review, although I'd have to double check. You guys were so distracted by the fact that it was using pretty visuals I don't think anyone mentioned this....I enjoyed it because it let me relax a bit after the video...its slow, calming, and speaks about Lights life after he dies at the end...honestly I think its my favorite part of the video because its the first part where it really slows down, and talks about what the heck you just watched....
I think this videos taking as much heat as it is is because we all don't want to see this turn into the new Naruto Technique beat. Pretty visuals without substance. However this video captured the feel of the show, had...I wouldn't call it a storyline but theres certainly a concept at work in the video. And really, do modern AMV's need more than that? Certainly an emotional video is good and tends to be more powerful than one of these videos, but mindless fun is often good too. *cough* Attack of the Otaku *cough*. AOTO is generally accepted as a fun watch to the best of my knowledge. Who's to say a serious anime deserves an incredibly deep video while something like this captures the sadistic nature of DN so well?

I hate to say it but people are going to talk about your video weather or not you like it...
You have excited the newbs, and you have gained some spotlight, but with spotlight (just like Brittany) comes both the good and the bad... real celebrities just have their "people" to buffer all the negative for them..
I donno how many people I've had tell me that I "need to watch this video", so at the same time I felt the need to comment on it.

But to be totally honest, I didn't hate Spoil. I felt as if it was just another AMV. Sure the effects were a little over the top, but at least it attempted a plot. THat makes me respect it.
:O
I think that Magic Pad ought to be reviewed. Why?

I really think that the people who say that "Spoil" is the Embodyment of DN need to go back and watch the show, and or get a comprehension level above 12 years old. I have watched that show several times and that damn AMV even more(
) and see only about 10% of what that show was about in that vid. Spoil is a very well edited AMV with a large focus on effects than story telling. Its not really ever a great idea to praise the hell out of a vid that uses your Fav. anime and has all of these great plot points in it that ONLY THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE SEEN THE SHOW KNOW and then flame all the people that dont like the vid cause THEY JUST DONT GET HOW GREAT IT IS. DN was a great Detective story tied to solutions to fix social injustices/some comedy(and for as much comedy that was in DN there is none in Spoil)/teen love/the search for your inner devil & goodness(which is all I see in Spoil)/and a coming of age story. So all in all Spoil is a great tech vid that makes all the fans of the show go squee but fails to capture an outside audience that can only see the flashy parts or not see much at all in the total darkness of the vid.
