In your opinion, what is the best rock song of all time. ( This is in no way, shape, or form a pointless topic. It is a simple and general question about music.)

I would have to say No Rain by Blind Melon. But then again there are a lot of other rock songs I like. But, today I feel that No Rain is the best. But, who knows I could easily feel different about this tomorrow.

My opinion.. is.. there is no best rock song of all time. What can be great for one person may not be great for another..

that is what will keep getting your topics locked. If something is the BEST, it is the best at all times, not just the best because your mood right now says it is.

Sorry, I just go by doom9s saying which is..

"Do not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered objectively. Each and everyone has their own view about what's best in a certain area. The best is what works best for you!"

It's an instant classic saying, so when people play the what is best game, then I just a lot of time jump in and play games with those people. Maybe this post isn't poinltess.. asking what your favorite rock song or whatever makes more sense. I have favorites, but I have no belief that any song I like can be considered the best.

So, I'm not just feeling like giving you hard time just for shits and giggles, I'm just not to fond of the what is best games.

Besides, who are to decide what's best? There's at least several hundred thousand rock songs out there. I'm not sure any of us here have heard a sufficient fraction of them to judge on an "all time" level.

My favorite song, even if we limit it to my "rock out" mood, changes all the time. One good candidate, which a few months back I successfully suggested for use in the Donator Forum IC, ended up in this VCA-nominated video http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=151031

Those are all genres of rock music, actually.

Which of course leads to the question of what the hell is "rock" and whether the term even means anything.
