Why is it that I have to be rich to watch anime?
Why is it that if you want to watch anime in japan you only have to turn on your TV and BOOM, its there in your face, but if you want to watch it HERE you have to pay 130 bucks for the box set of one season of a show you realy didn't like in the first place, but sicne buying it is the only ETHICAL way to watch anime, you have to. My question is basicaly,
"IF THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY, WHY DO I?"
"IF THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY, WHY DO I?"
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

It isn't as much a rhetorical question as it is an ethical one. Since I find it OBSCENE to pay 130 bucks for the EVA box set, when they got to watch it for FREE, and if I want to watch it without paying, I'M BREAKING THE FUCKING LAW! Not only do they get to see it for free, but if I try to, I'm commiting a crime.

Well, that's just the way the world works. Ethics and morals make the world harder to live in, and they gain other people more money. It's almost a form of charity, only the goodness of your heart urges you to buy the product rather than steal it.
And he was saying that they still have to pay a lot in Japan for TV. So it's not completely free. I think that's what he was saying at least...

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Because it costs a lot of money is not an excuse to steal. If it were, I'd have 5 cars, 10 big-screen digital TVs, and a golden mansion.
If you want to download digi-subs as an alternative to buying the series, fine, that's your decision, but don't go saying that the companies should deny themselves the profit they need to remain in business because you feel they are charging too much. Companies need to make a profit to remain in business. It's not greed, it's called capitalism. No profit, no company. No companies, no US releases of anime. Simple logic.
I download digi-subs myself on occasion, but I don't do it as an alternative to buying the damn thing. I just download to preview, then I buy it if I like what I see. My stance is somewhat rare these days, I know, but that's how I feel. You do whatever the hell you want. But don't fucking rationalize it by calling the companies greedy money-whores in so many words. They're just trying to run a business.

Thank you for saying that Chaos. I get sick of trying to explain to people why I don't download anime and I didn't want to start it here.
But, you really should maybe get rid of your sig at the end of serious posts. Because those angry ticks really destroyed any gravity your post may have sustained

The dichotomy of Chaos Angel. In one brief post, he goes from explaining the system of capitalism, in simplified form, to firing angry ticks from his nipples!!
I am... THE TICK!!
Wait... I think that name's taken...
Well, at least the South Park quote I used to have wasn't in there...
-"That's when I realized the Girl Scout was an 8-story tall crustacean from the Mesozoic Era..."
