you could also twist FMP with sauske (sp) and gowron (sp) since they were in a terrorist/racist war before joining mithryl etc and could be his "son" there's some flashbacks that would work.

You know, the second I read the lyrics, DBZ was the first thing that came to my mind. I can see why Kev suggested it. But seeing as you don't want to use that. You could use the original Gundam, Gundam Wing. or Gundam Seed. Those would fit I believe. Wonder if you could use Death Note, you'd have to make a unique twist though.
