<godix> I don't think the video worked. As far as I could tell this is probably one of those happy upbeat
animes and there just doesn't seem to be enough source to turn it into a drama vid

<KioAtWork> I liked the video in genral, but I wish we'd had less alien fighting scenes. It would have worked if I knew what was going on in those scenes.

<godix> Basher: Yes, there was rainbowing and the compression was rather poor. Now that has been said, the next person who talks about video quality gets flamed mercilessly

<Bashar> as an aside - having listened to all of Ellegarden albums but this one... they record their music like that, so don't mark audio score down for that
<KioAtWork> I think it did rather well.

<G_Q> Following the music, I would agree on that point, but it's still a little too random.

young to notice life is sh**, but they are."
<godix> I think he ran out of source to do what he wants. Most of it appears to be from one fight.

<Bashar> lots of hard, straight cuts when something softer might have worked
<Bashar> especially noticeable in the begining

<Panky> also, how was it called that problem that appear when you see lines?

<G_Q> Rainbowing, also.

<G_Q> Most of that is at the beginning.

<ngsilver> I do remember something about this series inherantly having lots of rainbows in it
<Bashar> i'm just saying... if the aim was to contrast the "innocence" in the beginning and the harsh realities later on, having no variation in the way you cut/fade is a noticeable failing

<godix> Bashar: It's more than not changing the cuts, the scenese themselves don't really change much.

<Bashar> yea, there's a need to have almost 2 different styles that you go back and forth between to show a difference
<Orwell> I basically said that he has a clear concept, however the execution failed, not only in the cuts, but primarily from the scene selection
<Orwell> there is no contrast
<Bashar> and that wasn't attempted
<Orwell> and the song is entirely mundane, so when you have paranormal shit all over the place, it just doesn't really work
<Panky> at 1:50 - 2:10 the music seems happier but it stills show people being killed
<ngsilver> I don't feel much in any way really, just seemed that I couldn't get the idea of this video... that and I think PEDO threw me off

<godix> I think he was trying for comedy by intentionally making a fun lighthearted anime into a dark emofest. I just don't think he succeeded.

<KioAtWork> Honestly, not mal's best. 7/10 at best, because too many of the scenes lacked real emotional context.

<Servo> I'll echo Kio. Mal is a good editor, but this vid didn't have any potential. I give it a 5/10.
<KioAtWork> Good concept, mediocre execution. Overdone cry scens. 7/10.

<godix> Not bad enough I'll be using it as an example of horrible videos for months on end. Instead it was just blah. I'll probably forget I ever saw this thing within a couple days.

<G_Q> I thought it had good technical merit after the rainbowed/interlaced scenes, but artistically, too much crying and I really had no idea what to make of it. The ending just didn't fit imho.
