Cloverfield...
Good movie but the camera work left me sick for the remainder of the night. I threw up my Denny's due to the massive headache the movie gave me. Watch it as far away from the screen as possible...Shakier than the effin Blair Witch Project...

Oh yes, they had warnings on that when me and my brother went to the theaters. We brought candy though, and me and him ate a lot of it, the motion of the screen and him eating got him sick to his stomach, though I didn't really get nauseous at all. We were both really close up and I really enjoyed it. The feeling it gives you is kind of the one you get when you are on a roller coaster.
So warning, don't eat candy or eat too much food when viewing this film, you will most likely get very nauseous.
"If films could reproduce, then Cloverfield would be the love-child of Godzilla and the Blair Witch."
hehe
I loved this film.. I can't believe the effects they did in this thing with the unpredictable camera movement..

It can't be experienced at home unless you have 3 sub woofers blasting from directly behind you, and two up front.guy07 wrote:NOBODY GIVE AWAY THE MONSTER!
I haven't seen it yet. But will ....sometime ...personally i loved the blair witch project. And godzilla. But yeah ...i can see it being a big headache with the combination of explosions/screaming and shakey cameras.
The base in this movie was amazing, and feeling my seat rumble on certain parts just gave me a rush.

The very concept makes me sick to my stomach, though I find thoughts of exequisite torture of the director to counter it some. Please for the love of bloody christ on a stick, directors get the FUCK OVER YOUR INABILITY TO HOLD A CAMERA. I can't wait for this trend to end and they figure out how to make a movie again. Countdown: 10 years at least.

The camera effect is done for many reasons. One of them is to add a certain effect of realism.
I've read a lot of negative reviews on the film, but from what it sounds like, naysayers just couldn't stand what the camera was doing or just didn't like the idea, others enjoyed the ride, and what a ride it was.. felt like a long roller coaster. The top read critics in the US mostly give it the thumbs up. Funny some that did get sick loved it.. hehe.
