Indulgent, indulgent, indulgent. Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the greatest actors in the history of history, but PTAnderson is indulgent, and seems to be more concerned with you admiring the craft instead of being pulled in by the story.
Could have had 30 minutes easily cut from it.
2 stars.

Odd, I'd think that movie was meant for you.Beowulf wrote:Indulgent, indulgent, indulgent. Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the greatest actors in the history of history, but PTAnderson is indulgent, and seems to be more concerned with you admiring the craft instead of being pulled in by the story.

I'm still dying to see it, overindulgent or not, because I'd watch Daniel Day-Lewis read a phone book and it'd still be worth three stars.

I saw "There Will Be Blood" yesterday, I really liked it. It was long and, like Julian said, could have easily been edited down a bit but I loved the story and Lewis's ridiculously over the top character. Me and my girlfriend LOL'd several times at just how insane some of the shit he did and said was. I'd give it 3.5 stars...
