hate to double post but i'm stumped on another thing too...

ok so first layer the clip is in the middle

second layer and third they would be on the top or bottom...but how do I do that? in the event crop selection I cant move the clip up or down above the 1st...if that makes sense...here's a screenshot

also I cant get my cookie cutter or any other effects to show up...I can edit and whatnot...but they dont show up x.x on the clip itself when im done...is there an "apply" button that perhaps i'm missing?

try pressing this button and maybe the effects will show up properly in the preview screen... also DID YOU TRY RENDERING IT TO SEE IF THE EFFECTS ARE WORKING ON THE RENDERED FILE?

there is no "render button" O.o

you go to file and choose "Render as..." and it will bring up a whole bunch of options for exporting your video... (file container, basic settings etc.)

if you wanna do a "test" I'd recommend using the Default Setting on the .WMV container... it's not good enough (imho) for a final export but its good for betas and testing out stuff.

this will tell you how to export a final project.

and not to sound mean or anything but if you're that new to Vegas that you don't know how to render or export your video from the program, perhaps you should stick to simple editing (no effects) until you can build up a basic knowledge of the program.. It might be better for you to play around with it quite a bit before you try to make a video with a ton of effects that will more than likely flop due to lack of knowledge.

and no i'm pretty ready for this

I know how to export video to sony, it's just I cant find the render tool,
and i've been working with wmm, adobe photoshop, adobe illustrator and flash for some time now and those I learned "cold turkey" as well, once I figure things out i'll be all set, heck I realized I was doing everything on the effects right, it was that window I had to click that you pointed out earlier :p

you meant export, I was doing that right, I wasn't familiarizing myself with the terminology that's all

So I am exporting everything and it's all working right except that issue with the masking above

and oh trust me i'm keeping it simple...definatly not going to do this crazy music vid or anything :p

in fact the first music vid I plan to do is based off a song that is 1minute and 46 seconds :p
