ps i think Kyousuke should have had a bit more development. Also on a side note that guy a friend of Renji's, ponytail guy, saw the OP to the game and it hints that he has a relationship with the blonde junior

Oh, Geneon USA! Why must you go down under!

I really hope this gets licensed soon hopefully by ADV since they also release some of Geneon Japan's titles here.

Final episode! :P

The first half was titled "love" which dealt with aftermath of Renji's and Chihiro's relationship.
Spoiler :
And what we got is a happy ending, and the keyword to obtain that was effort. Renji finally found the determination to make an effort to recollected all the missing diary pages Chihiro threw away. And as for Chihiro, she couldn't forget Renji; she just couldn't despite the fact she has to. Do note that it's not because of some "deus ex machina", but it's from Chihiro being able to remember things much longer than 13 hours by constant reminders; she has done that in one of the past episodes.
The second half was appropriately categorized as coda with the title "dream".
Spoiler :
It's pretty much the epilogue of the entire series with each of the respective couples' (though Kyousuke and Kei aren't "really" going out, but they've became close). After the ending credits (which by the way a remix of the original visual novel's opening), Yuu finally met up with Yuko in the church. It seems they knew each other for quite some time.
Final thoughts: All right, let's be honest! Is anyone pretty much shocked that SHAFT was able to pull off a romantic/drama series so effectively? We're dealing with the same staff who mostly did visualized comedy series, and they employed those visual techniques to create abstract representations of the characters' emotions (and not to mention some beautiful scenery, screenshots, and naked body shots of the girls ). This is greatly complemented with very effective voice work from the seiyuus; due to the fact not all the scenes required them to be "on screen" I can imagine the English dub would be at a good advantage since they don't have to worry about lip-flaps. And finally there's Tenmon's gorgeous soundtrack which is SO worth owning; it's great hearing his stuff outside from Makoto Shinkai's works. This is really one of the better romance series that came out of 2007 and just in time as well too! :D

Oh god, the AMV possibilities using this is starting to rush through me!

Final episode: totally owns. 8-) 8-)
A feel-good ending which wraps up everything important...what more could we ask for??

Ok,now I won't be satisfied if Ef doesn't get the prize for being the best drama romance anime of 2007.Before this anime,I only knew SHAFT from the second season of Negima, where I liked the art and design but never watched it due to preferring the manga. But it looks like I'm gonna check their other productions too.Kudos to their work and I hpe they'll continue making these excellent productions.

And I'm now pretty sure I'll make an amv to Ef.It's just too good... :D

That was pure anime awesomeness. Best last episode of the year. This series really is one of the best of the year. I so wish that this gets translated in italian too... but yeah, here we rarely get good stuff. But anyway.

@ angelx03: I was thinking that perhaps Makoto Shinkai himself might actually be involved in the ef anime. He was the Animation Movie Director for the Visual Novel opening, so he might have done something in the actual anime too. This is something that I was thinking tho, nothing sure, but if it's true, then we better understand why this anime is so great. :D

I'd actually disagree to be honest, for two reasons:

1. Although there are many scenes that do not involve the character on screen, ef - atom has really gone the extra step, and you'll notice that the character's lip movements follow the pronunciation of the words in Japanese. So the English dub may look rather horrible due to the English words not corresponding with the lip movements of the Japanese words.

2. I am positive that the English voice cast won't be as strong as the Japanese's. Seriously, Miyako's voice actress was so amazing. I don't know if they will be able to match that for the English dub.

With that being said, it may be awhile before I get my hands on episode 12... damnit.
