To perhaps put this thread back on track, I wasn't inspired to start making videos by any video or creator in particular. I had been watching videos since I first came across some very simple ones back in '96 direct downloaded from some websites in RM format.
What really got me into editing was when I finally got a hold of a capture card, crappy as it was, and realized that I too could make videos.
It wasn't any one video, but just the pure fact that I could add to the community that I had been leeching from for so long. Though creators like Jestmaster, SailorDeath and Brad DeMoss were big influences.

ummm inspired..hmm a bunch of recommended videos inspired me to edit (there are alot of creative editors out there...I was amazed)...I also did some personal vid hunting and came across a few (no names given) . When I saw what is possible to do in a vid (by watching quite a few), I pissed my pants and gave it some thought. Now want to learn as much as I can so I'll have alil more freedom to do what I want alil later in the game.

Same here. If you want to put it like this, I was probably inspired to start making AMVs by several videos that were the first I have ever seen. But they didn't make me want to do my own ones because they were good or something special to me, it was only because I thought the idea to combine anime and music I like, seemed cool and fun at that point. I was inspired oddly enough, by my daughter. She was into Sailor Moon in a BIG way and I happened upon some amvs by...um, fireemblem I think it was. I thought they were fun and pretty neato. Because of those videos, my daughter asked me to hunt down pretty much every video I could find to the song So Magical. That's when I found the Pretty Sparkles video. I saw it, thought it was pretty and started wondering if maybe I could make something like that too. Of course, like almost everyone, my first video is a horrid atrocity. But, it's lead to a nice learning experiance and more videos for my daughter to watch.
