Comic Fiesta 2007 (A call to all AMV-makers)
This may sound familiar to you all, I admit. This call has been made twice over the last four years for an event in Malaysia called Comic Fiesta (CF). Once again I'm putting out a request to most of you on the possibility of playing some of the AMVs featured here in this year's edition of CF: CF'07 (15 and 16 December 2007 @ Times Square Kuala Lumpur).
Again, the same objectives are to encourage the Malaysian crowd into trying their hand at making AMVs. Already there's marginal success in this at the CF forum (http://comicfiesta.com/forumy/index.php?showtopic=14595) but it's kinda died on its own. I still believe airing AMVs from this website may just jump-start their creative juices for AMVs.
Just to note, Comic Fiesta is the largest fan-organised Doujinshi-Con in Malaysia, with CF'07 being the biggest-to-date. There's a large mix of cosplay, anime and games thrown into the mix as well throughout the activities on both days. It has pioneered a number of events in this country as well such as competitive Cosplay Chess (in 2007, we're introducing the Jukebox Edition), doujinshi & doujin-booth competitions, artwork galleries and even figurine galleries.
I'll compile a list to put up here soon so you guys know what I'll want to air. If you've any suggestions, then put it up here as well. Based on my experience, the Malaysian crowd prefers crack AMVs (such as istiv's The Race or Suberunker's Wizard of Ozaka, just to name a few examples). So AMV trailers are definitely a good thing. The list should be up within this week so do keep an eye on this space. Same procedures apply where all AMVs will be given due credit to its respective creators.
I really appreciate the fact that you guys are putting out a whole lot of good stuff. I, myself, will eventually join the bandwagon and learn from all of you (masters of the art of AMV-making) once I find the time to put my ideas into work. For now, I'll do my part and spread the love of AMVs over here in Malaysia...so I do hope you guys can lend me a hand. Thanks for taking your time to read this request.
Btw, if you guys are interested to attend this event, do visit the website (www.comicfiesta.com). It's quite sparse but it does its job for now. Note the fact that one has to book flight tickets to get to Malaysia to attend this event. ^^v
Cheers
Victor
