Yes, that is the current submission deadline, though depending on how busy things are before the con/video numbers the deadline may be pushed back farther.

You may note that this deadline is slightly different than the one listed on the org calendar, that was just to make it more visible.

Is 23.976fps progressive also acceptable, with or without the 3:2-pulldown-upon-playback flag set?

either are fine, though the 3:2 pulldown is preferred if that's how you are submitting.

WTF? Why? usually it's per editor not by studio.

soo you're accepting huffyuv/lagarith/uncompressed and that's it?

once again "WTF" and why? *edits* and where do collabs fit in?
wrote: 9. No Logos/Subtitles/TV station overlays.
So not even ones we made ourselves?

sooo you aren't allowing square pix, and everything must be 0.9 4:3 and NTSC... well well too bad for the rest of the world -_- and anyone from a country using PAL

Last I checked, rules like that were pretty standard for North American conventions. I don't think I've ever submitted to a con that allowed 25fps or anamorphic widescreen video.

It's not hard to do the conversion yourself; use one of any number of AVISynth built-in functions to convert to 29.97fps, and then check out that guide that ChronoWraith linked in the encoding section of the rules.

Which I just happen to have written.

forgive me if I think that sounds like steriotypical American arrogance :\ not your comments but it being standard... there are many con's I've sent stuff to that say things like
fps from 23.976
AR 640X480 or larger
Which allows for standard PAL and a variety of formats.
Also I can convert to NTSC and often do (before I edit) for MEPs but it's my understanding that increasing PAL 25fps to 29.970 will screw up the timing/audio since the huffyuvs are sitting completed on my drive. Is this incorrect?
new banzors in the making :p
