Forgive me my friend but are you being patronizing?
David Julio Wang wrote: Of course I'm referring to an Anime Music Video.
It's the title of the forum after all.
I never knew O:

Many thanks my friend for pointing that out, and to think, all this time I thought everybody was talking about pies.
David Julio Wang wrote: Was my post really that awful?
Quite possibly.
David Julio Wang wrote:I didn't know you dislike You tube so mightily.
I'll leave that for everyone else to answer.
David Julio Wang wrote:If You tube is unacceptable, then where is everyone posting their AMV's for others to watch?
Nowhere. We are all doomed. DOOMED I TELLS YA
David Julio Wang wrote:I guess you guys have had very horrible experiences with You tube then.
It touched me when I was a child ;__;

No you big silly O:

Pies are a well known ingredient to a good AMV. Just put it in your CD drive, install "steak and cheese" onto your C drive and run it.

Correct. Don't forget to deinterlace the pastry, or else it looks bad.

...

well...strangely enough your responses made me smile.

I thought I was going to be offended by them, but, I thought about it and you guys are obviously old veterans at the AMV craft and have come to have penetrating insight into the dos and don'ts of AMV creation and distribution.

----
That's more then just hilarious =D

Yes obviously you are on a-m-v.org....
ring a bell??
...

My answer.
I thought this was "just" a forum.
I found it with a google search, and this is the page that opened up.
I didn't search it through thoroughly.
now seriously
For your topic try this

Video: Jihaku
Category: Serious, Sentimental, etc
Anime: Various (117)
Song: Best of You
Artist: Foo Fighters
Creator: Tyler_yj (Fantasy Movies)
So I have to download the AMV to watch it?

hmm...

This is what I mean by You tube being preferable.

I have a slow computer and being able to watch videos on You tube is a blessing.

Yes. Yes. I know.
"WTF dude! Make some money and go buy yourself a decent computer for 'bleeps' sake!"

Making money isn't a priority for me, but, yes, I will purchase a better computer in the near future.
For now, the one I am using serves me well, and I don't need to abandon it quite yet.

All that said, my thanks for the serious post Scott.

I do feel like I am being subjected to a bit of "new guy bashing".

Is this really the way to welcome somebody who was just offering an idea they thought others might enjoy?

...
That said, once again, I do understand that you guys are all old hands on this ship, and that you find it bothersome that somebody new comes aboard and asks obvious questions.

Well, my friends, everybody is new when they do something for the first time.
I've become fairly resilient over the years, and, I bounce back nicely from less than warm welcomes.
So I won't be scared away that easily.
I know it's not about real life issues, but that Video is really touching, if you know what I mean
Not really my friend, but, I'll check it out and let you know.
It will take a while, my computer is quite slow.
And don't even dare to try uploading that somewhere else Evil or Very Mad
I'll take that as a no then...

----

To recap, I was just offering a suggestion for something I have never seen before.

A music video tribute to friends and family set to music from Anime.

I thought the combination would be stellar and very moving.

If you do not like the idea, I can accept that, though I cannot understand why not.

I'm sure there are sensitive souls on the forum though who would really enjoy doing an AMTV as a dedication to loved friends and family.

When they do make one, I want to watch.
I like to be moved, as you would be able to tell by the content within the spoiler in my first post.

----

When all is said though, I am still grateful to have you guys reply, even though it was a bit harsh of a chewing out for a raw cadet.

Yes.
David Julio Wang wrote:This is what I mean by You tube being preferable.
The tradeoff is that youtube AMVs pretty much all suck. You view them on a tiny ass 320x240 screen and most are just about naruto fighting to Linkin Park, or horribly edited scenes (to be honest, most are left unedited)
David Julio Wang wrote:I have a slow computer and being able to watch videos on You tube is a blessing.
Uhh... your computer power has nothing to do with downloading AMVs. At all.
David Julio Wang wrote:Yes. Yes. I know.
"WTF dude! Make some money and go buy yourself a decent computer for 'bleeps' sake!"
I doubt anyone here would say that.
David Julio Wang wrote:I do feel like I am being subjected to a bit of "new guy bashing".
Warning: Stay the hell away from the AMV announcements thread.
David Julio Wang wrote: Is this really the way to welcome somebody who was just offering an idea they thought others might enjoy?
In a highly sarcastic and amusing way? Yes.
David Julio Wang wrote:That said, once again, I do understand that you guys are all old hands on this ship, and that you find it bothersome that somebody new comes aboard and asks obvious questions.
Yeah, the best method is to lurk. Alot. Like, just give up any social life you have and make sure you refresh the page often so you can read EVERY new post made.

Good. Welcome to the .org
