ignore the stuff about windows movie maker, but this is how you open a wvm9 encoded video file into virtualdub mod

and yea, you should be using your DVDs it's much easier to drop in a VOB file into Virtualdub Mod than it is to try to open wmv9 encoded avis

mkay, I have a pretty big problem now, in vegas 8.0, every time I change the speed or velocity of a clip, it works fine in preview mode, but as soon as I render it, all clips that had their speeds changed turn jet black. any help?

i had this exact same problem a while ago, read this thread and it should answer your question.

generally what ive found though is slowing anything down will work fine in vegas, speeding stuff up can cause problems depending on the footage.

New Question:

Can you lock scene so they dont move when you edit them? When you try to add a new clip it moves the others from original position, can you lock them in place so they dont move?

Disable ripple edits and see if that helps.
