im bored... i have no life, no local friends, no children (thank goodness) and nothing to do while my husband is at work... so i do this :/
i figured it was easier to make my own if i wanted to see a certain combination than it was to beg or ask someone to do it for me.

i'd like to get back in it now after 2 years since my last video, but i've been waiting for inspiration and more importantly lack of distraction, i guess.

I think the real experiment is how difficult servo can make his writing style to read.servo101010 wrote:Yes to the first...taifunbrowser wrote: Honestly, are you doing a psychological experiment here or are you just so mentally perverted that you doubt the importance of "play"?
No to the second....

AMV's were what i started with, and now i do real music videos for money on the side, but I still do AMV's for training myself in new editing techniques/getting familiar with new effects/testing things.
that, and it also got me into just editing in general (for TV stations etc.)

What if you're middle aged without a home, partner or children? Fortunately I've got a job.servo101010 wrote: the middle aged individual who has a home, partner, children, and job.

bleh. AMVs are just my way of being creative at the moment. Ten years ago it was writing, 20 years ago it was drawing, 30 years ago it was...um...I guess making abstract designs with my baby food.
AMVing won't take me anywhere, even if I do enjoy video editing. I'm not a natural at it and I am way too slow to actually attempt to do it for a living. The most it's done for me, aside from providing an exasperating hobby, is prove to myself that I've got the ability to accomplish something by my own willpower if I want to badly enough. I had no reason to NEED to learn video editing - my career wasn't hinging on it, I wasn't being graded, it wasn't a necessity.

I'm more than happy to do that actually.Kitsuner wrote: I think the real experiment is how difficult servo can make his writing style to read.
But unfortunately, I'm tired, and lazy from a long trip taken today. So I'll just use what energy I have left to continue this curiosity I have for the future of AMVs.
I understand that some responders have given relevant statements to the questions asked in the author's post.
Such as:

Yet many are still confused by this author's confusing words.DriftRoot wrote: AMVing won't take me anywhere, even if I do enjoy video editing. So I'll ask again and a little more simply.
Do you see yourself editing AMVs two, five, or ten years from now?
Do you see an evolution for AMVs in the future? Or do you see AMV's being the same concept in the future?
