6-Time Emmy Winner to Judge Animated Music Video Contest
6-Time Emmy Award Winner Phil Roman to Judge 'Antics Animated Music Video Contest' on AboveTheLine.TV
Wed Sep 26, 3:01 AM ET
Contest Gives Directors Access to Industry Leaders and Ground-breaking Tools to Create Music Videos.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 26, 2007 -- AboveTheLine.TV, a social network for the music video industry and the online component of the multi-platform reality show "Above The Line: The Search For America's Next Music Video Director," is teaming up with Antics animation software (http://www.antics3d.com) to launch the "Antics Animated Music Video Contest" judged by Phil Roman, the 6-time Emmy Award winning animator behind hit shows and specials such as "Charlie Brown," "Garfield and Friends," "The Simpsons," and "King of the Hill".
Starting September 26, 2007, directors will be able to upload animated music videos through the AboveTheLine.TV website for a chance to win a copy of the newest release of Antics animation software.
A second part of the contest, kicking off later this fall, will allow directors to gain exclusive online access to Antics software to create music videos for a record label. The winning animated video will be chosen by the featured artist and published on the Antics website.
"Working with AboveTheLine.TV on this animation contest is a great opportunity for Antics to introduce our easy to use 3D animation software package to the animation and music video production communities," said Brad Kolacinski, Director of Marketing Operations for the Americas.
"Antics levels the playing field for those who are new to 3D animation and allows virtually anyone with basic computer skills to produce an animated music video that really exemplifies their creative capabilities. Antics also understands that music video productions have the same budget and time constraints as feature, TV and commercial productions and that pre-visualization can expedite time spent on-set for live-action shoots, keeping productions under budget."
AboveTheLine.TV's mission is to provide opportunities for music video professionals to get recognized and rewarded for their work. By developing a strategy to engage brands through music video contests, AboveTheLine.TV continues its efforts to sponsor ground-breaking music videos done by individuals who are pursuing a career in filmmaking.
Music videos fans can also participate in exclusive interactive interviews such as October's feature on industry legend Phil Roman, view the latest music video industry headlines from VideoStatic.com, explore recent music video production locations provided by California's top locations company, Plan-It Locations, and access hosted chats with music video industry insiders through MusicVideoWire.com.
Preeti Shrivastava, a former music video director, heads up production of "Above The Line: The Search For America's Next Music Video Director" along with partners Mark Hason, the former Senior Director for Clive Davis at Arista and video commissioner at Tommy Boy Music, and Danny Wright, the former Director of Artist Development for Arista Records and head of video promotion for Universal Records.

Antics software (http://www.antics3d.com) is for anyone with a story to tell. Antics allows anyone with a creative vision to be able to produce 3D animations quickly and easily - only limited by their imagination. Users can build their own scenes using Antics supplied content or import content from external sites. Animation is easy using Antics intelligent props, cameras can be freely positioned cameras and shots modified on the fly, and the output is simple to share or process in other programs. For those making professional films, it can produce pre-visualizations that help improve a pitch to win financing or a commission, plan a smooth production process, or generate 3D graphics - ensuring clear communication.
Develop ideas that move with 3D animated storyboards. And, amazingly, there's no need for 3D modeling or animation skills. If you can point and click, and drag and drop, you can use Antics. It takes care of the complex animation, allowing you to focus on your creativity.

The OP didn't actually know what our community was about - he PMed me to make that point clear. The handful of people here that actually do their own animation would probably find it useful, but i'm sure they all visit other communities that this message has been copypasta-ed to.JaddziaDax wrote:but pimping is pimping is it not?
