Help with mp4,avi,wmv conversion to amv

i have a new mp4 player well sort of it only plays vids in the form of .amv

this site isn't about the .amv format...
I don't know how you would go about converting something to .amv, but methinks it would be a quick google

I've never come across a video in an .AMV format here.

its weird how people react to this format when I believe it is quite a common format in china for most PMPs

AFAIK it is the most popular one in China but it's still a very limited format (obviously, since it was made specifically for use with small-screen, battery-powered devices) and being proprietary and not widespread outside China, chances are it'll suck until it goes extinct.
