I think you posted this thread a bit late. Most people who want to send a premiere to the contest won´t make it in such a short time.
(MPEG 2 or WMV are the recommended formats.)
Can I submit a mp4 with x264 video and AAC+ audio? (preffered from me)
Or XviD (I hope)?
Can I send you an .wmv with WMC9 video codec? (better than nothing)

From the ftp:
Maximum File Size: 40 MB
Are you serious? O_O I guess I will need 60 or 50 MB at least. All the particle effects boost the variable bitrate.

*edit*
Yep. Nearly no way for me to go under 40MB with good visual quality in 640x480 (cleaned DVD footage) with an x264 mp4.

The 40MB was for the online upload. However, we are looking into methods to expand this number.

Also, we are extending the submission deadline to October 15, 2007

K... I better buy another DVD for submission.

If you´re out for good videoquality I would expand to 60MB.

Edit:
*submitted CD via mail* ;)

Ooooohh yeaaah... I forgot about this one. I might just have to go or something, since its in the area, kinda. Might give me a reason to finish a video too.

*opens up con website and bank account website side by side*

Hmm...

*nervously tabs back and forth*

You don't have to be there to win I assume?
I mean, if Bauzi is entering, lol. ^_^;;

Uhm... yeah I thought that it is not necessary to be there. ^^'

A LOT

-Fansub subtitles
If they´re left in the scenes and make no sense. This can lead to disqualification to a lot of cons. At least it´s no good
-Your own subs
Are sometimes don´t allowed too. It´s good that you ask about your subs!

I made a contest intro some weeks ago with one of my friends and we had the problem at the con that we placed our subs at the bottom. What nobody knew was that none of the back rows were able to read them, because of the heads of the first rows =/
