Fanservice in AMVs

When I was typing this post, someone pulled the fire alarm in this building. Come on now, this is a state university, not high school. Grow up dammit.

I'm curious to what people think about fanservice in anime?

I, for one, am not a huge fan of fanservice, unless it's done well. I think part of what shapes my opinion is the fact that nothing is better than the real thing. Anime is just fake drawn women, and if I really want to look at large fake tits I'll become a breast agumentation doctor. Not to mention some anime way overdoes the fanservice to the point you want to shoot the screen, and it's not even good fanservice either.

So, I'd perfer not to see excessive fanservice in AMVs either, unless the video itself is about fanservice in some way.

Of course, there's another, bigger reason I don't think there should be fanservice in AMVs. It's kinda hard to show a friend who's never seen anime a video if there's jiggling naked boobs and panty shots every 10 seconds. It's even harder if I'm trying to show the video to someone who's, say, 10 years old. There may be a more diverse audience of AMVs besides just college students.

Most AMVs of course are clean, but there are videos here and there that have fanservice where I think it's unnecessary.

So my rule: Keep the fanservice to a minimum unless there's a specific reason you're putting it in (as a part of the story, to match the lyrics, because it's a video spoofing fanservice, ect).

You know,there are some fat,sweating and bald guys out there,who don't care that they're drawn,they just love 'em because they look hawt,and anime fanservice mostly admired and requested by them.

Actually,I don't think there's a need for it at all. Are we watching AMVs because of hawt chicks and cool boyz?

Anime - fanservice is made to draw more these fat,sweating and bald guys to buy their stuff (DVDs,souvenirs,etc.). AMVs - no need for any fansevice. Though I agree with you - if there's a specific reason for that,then pump it as much as you want.

You're assuming the real thing is always legal - There are plenty of videos (and Mr. Oni among others) that suggest that some tastes may fall into another category entirely.

I disagree. Non-real wimmens have the advantage of being able to be perfect ideals. Real wimmens generally can't.
