Question about Size vs. quality

That solely depends on what app you're using to encode it. XviD's VFW is much simpler to get the hang of compared to MeGUI+x264. Not to mention that even with the gains x264 has made in speed over the past 150-so revisions, it still takes longer (a fact only exacerbated for those using an ancient-by-modern-standards computer like mine). That said, my main distro encodes have completely switched to H.264.

I think when using Zarx's GUIm you can basically take your brain out and get great quality. IMO, Zarx's GUI is a lot easier than VDub, providing you have the relevant stuff installed

Yeah sry. Of course I meant zarxGUI. It´s so god damn easy and yeah the default settings already are something that is just alright. XviD, you have to read threw a whole guide before you set up things. Than you just made the 1st pass and afterwards you do the real 2nd pass (if you go the first time threw the guide). HAHA! =/
In zarxGUI, everything is set up for amvs (guess) and the defaults are pretty good and usefull.

It´s awesome.

how about you guys just let them look at the links and learn what they want to learn rather than trying to push a compression on them...
