Yes. Does it need to be pointed out that it's bad to have a straight scene go on for 30 seconds?

Also does it need to be pointed out that having Grindcore behind an emotionally aimed Video is bad?.. Unless of course meant to be humerous and done right.

You don't HAVE to follow the lyrics but you should at least keep them in mind. There's a lot of videos I've seen where they ignore the lyrics so the video doesn't make any sense suddenly.

Conversely following the lyrics too literally can take the flow away from your video and it will just look like a bunch of individual shots with no theme.

sometimes I find I feel like adding lip flap to some of my videos. It just doesn't feel right unless there's just some lip flap! Or many times I find it very annoying to kill all the lip flap, but it's MUCH less annoying if I just slow it down. I hate QUICK mouth movements.

Basically the first rule of AMVs is JUST DO WHAT YOU FEEL!! Sure there's TIPS out there that you can possibly follow to make your amv better. But if your psychodelic amv looks better to you interlaced, than leave it interlaced! If your drama amv flows better with this one long scene, than leave the long scene in there!! Do what you please, it's just a hobby, I'm not out to please anybody but myself... (and my mommy ;p)

Lip flap was probably the first thing I was really criticized for.

Do sufficient amounts of awesome, and do not do excessive amounts of suck. Then your video will be great.
