I guess that's a safe way to go about it, but the only complaint I have for that is that when a song is high up in the chart, it tends to get played a lot, and (at least in New Zealand) the song just gets overplayed and killed to the point where no one wants to listen to it anymore :/

that all depends on what kinds of videos you like

Right now "Something Fishy" is getting the most downloads of all my vids... the lyrics are highly repetitive, but its fun and up beat, and very very odd. I also procrastinated the most on this one, so it took me the longest to make.

"Walking in the Butterflies" is probably my second most popular video but its Shounen-ai and if you don't like that sort of thing, you might not want to see it, but if it doesn't squick you then go for it?

"Sugar High" (which is not an amv really due to the major lack of anime, and therefore isn't listed on my ORG profile) is my newest video, it can be accessed from the page that comes up when you click the banner in my signature. If you like Disney (and other American animated films) it would be a safe one to get.

If you want something short and weird "How To: Impress a Girl" is both a small download AND uses a really really annoying song.

So, it really depends on what you are in to...

I donno you like Sentimental? Cute? Dramatic? Dark? I have one that comes close to "Action" and I'm working on a "Dance" video right now (probably won't be up till tomorrow though)

being on dial-up I would probably avoid most of the multi-editor projects I've been in as either 1. they are birthday videos for a specific person and the "jokes" are all in-jokes or 2. they are massive files.

.. hmmm, I was not aiming for "safe" .. I was trying for "Greatness" .. any songs you've heard that can "stand the test of time?".. Those songs work best

I heard good things about this from kikai_saigono so this will be the first one I get, then probably a few more.

Our school hasn't blocked the .org yet, so I've been sucking up bandwidth downloading larger AMVs from there.

I wouldnt even go so far as to say that (ones that stand the test of time, or ones that top the charts), I would say go for songs you like, or ones you cant get out of your head.. songs you can visualize a video to work the best!

listen to whatever songs you want to and if you can see a video to them then make the video.

I'm currently working with a song I'm not very fond of but the damn thing is addictive and i feel the need to share the misery O: (but then again thats how something fishy started out too)

Don't ever stress over weather or not a video is going to be popular... in fact always assume maybe 1-2 people will like it and be greatfull for those few that might like your video...

make what you want to make, if you like it chances are at least one other person will like it as well

Hahah I only just realized that I downloaded this a while ago. Let me say I was surprised when I opened it, and yes, the song is very annoying :p

Yeah I know what Shounen-Ai is, but I'm cool with that. What I despise the most are narrow minded people.

Most of my classmates are that way, thinking that any anime with a female character is somehow classified as hentai.

I was watching Skittles in class and they told me to stop watching "indecent material"
