loud obnoxious opening credits
This might sound odd, but, I have never liked people that require loud annoying open credit sequences.
Especially if the anime creation is a pleasant reasonably quite amv.
I get really turned off when I start the video, and BAM loud annoying look at me sequence essentially pisses me off.
If you think this is without repercussions, think again. Either the song gets trashed, or, if I like the amv enough, I just run it through an editor, cut your opening sequence off, and thereafter, anyone I show it to, gets the version where you don't get credited.
So people, be proud of your creations, but, tone done the friggin noise level.

Anime, one of the few things about the internet that doesn't make me hate the internet.

The youth of today sure has a short attention span. Do you also get pissed off at certain movies when they show the credits in the beginning? Those sequances can take several minutes, but with AMVs you only have to stand the horrible pain for a few seconds. It's also not entirely impossible to skip them.
Is it just me or does this bitching really seem to come from an angry individual, who didn't think too long before posting?

I agree, there's no reason to get so angry over it.
Firstly, as was already pointed out, it's only for a few seconds at the beginning. Keep in mind the amount of time and effort the maker put into the AMV, if he/she wants a fancy, loud opening for it, that's their choice to make.
Secondly, cutting off the credits then sharing it with your friends is pretty bad, kinda like disrespecting the creator just because you didn't like 5 seconds of noise.

This is what you bitch about in IRC. The forums aren't really conducive to this kind of chat.

I don't think this is about credits in general, just ones where the credits don't match the tone of the rest of the video. With movies you're rarely going to see a hard rock song playing over the opening credits of a romance movie.Esrhan wrote:The youth of today sure has a short attention span. .. times have changed. In this AMV I let the girl ramble-on for people to "set the sound level.".. today people do not bother with such a helpful distractions but, yeah -- I've run across quite a few AMV's that either blow-your-ears-out or have some annoying sound affect that makes you Stop watching it all together.
.. it must have something to do with that little girls "smell my feet" thing to get something in-your-face that they are so proud of. I've never understood what they could possibly be thinking, beides wanting to show everybody that their brain has malfunctioned!
