I am going to do an AMV for Fate/Stay Night But I am so lost when it comes to picking out songs. Can anyone give me any good suggestions
(Instrumental songs are great, doesn't matter)
I used Fuel: Won't Get Down for Shakugan no Shana and it was great. But I would love to explore different types of songs, I would appreticate it!

Ok,, I think I should give this a shot.
Here are a few pointers that might help you out.
Before I point any song suggestions and such, I'd just like to bring up something which may help you in making AMV's altogether. I find that it is almost always easier to make an AMV out of a song and not vice versa... What I mean to say is when you decide to make an AMV it is much easier to make one from an idea you got when listening to a particular song. It is more difficult to make an amv by choosing the anime first then struggling to find a song for it. The video should come from the song so whatever anime you imagine to fit the song should work. You should be able to imagine the whole video in your mind when listening to the song and then all you have to do is the practical work by creating the final video.
Now on to my suggestions:
If you want to make a video by choosing the anime and then the song then this might help you decide a little:
Before choosing a song it is best to first determine the genre of your amv (Action; Drama; Romance etc...), This will help you determine what pace and type the desired song should be. (yes I know yours will be action)
Next: Decide on a few scenes you would like to use and see if you can find a song that might compliment it.
The type of anime used can also help determine what song you will use: For instance, if you take an anime such as Bleach where there are a lot of battle scenes in the anime, it should work best in an action video hence you find a somewhat fast paced maybe rock type song for it.
Fate/Stay Night can be both romantic and/or action based but as you look at the story you will notice that not much happens romantically but if the scenes are chosen carefully a romantic vid most likely can be done.
I think the action genre suits it best as the plot revolves around the battle for the holy grail. So your choice in anime is good.
Types of music you can use:
Fast paced rock type music may work well.
I find that epic music suits this type of video best if the right song is chosen.
Here are a few music artists I know which you can look at:
(They are all epic)
Evanescence
Hammerfall
Iron Saviour
Kamelot
Machinae Supremacy
Masterplan
Nightwish
(cant think of any more, I'm sure there are at least 1 or 2 I forgot... no worries)
I haven't made all too many AMV's myself but I find that everytime I make a new one I get a lot better. I made one of my recent AMV's using Fate/Stay Night called "Kimi ga Nozomu Tenshi"... I used a song by Nightwish - Wish I Had An Angel. You can download it and it might help you with ideas for your AMV.
Heres the info:
I hope this helps....

Oh yes... this is a little something on the side: I recently uploaded my latest AMV and I thought that maybe you can have a look at it and tell me what you think.
