Would you listen the the music w/o the AMV?
As many of you do, I have a good amount of AMV's saved to my home and work computer as well as my phone. I like to watch them instead of listening to music for the most part as they are much more entertaining.
I for one am a complete otaku/nerd/ whatever you want to call it but most don't know it.
Here is a question. I know most of you all have your different tastes in music as I do but would you listen to a certain song without the AMV attached to it?
Super Cute Girls by Bakadeshi or Skittles by Koop would, personally, not be as fun without the videos.
How bout the rest of you? I am buying a new DVD/Navi player for my car so that I can have AMV's playing in it...sad? I think not! Genius!

I must tell that I find this song very interesting, I mean - it's hard to tell, would I like it or not if I would get to listen it before I've seen AMV. About dance music - I prefer to listen to harder dance music, like Electro,Techtrance and stuff like that, but I liked this song,so I can't really tell would I listen to it without AMV or not,but right now,I prefer to listen it when watching this vid.
Certain types of songs, like few Clay Aiken songs,or Trust Company - I can't listen to them without watching AMV. Example - when I'm listening Downfall,it means that I'm watching "Darkness Over The Light", BUT - when I'm listening Slipping Away,it doesn't mean that I'm watching some AMV.
So the answer would be - there are certain times and songs when I'm listening to song ONLY when watching certain AMV.

Obsession? Not really...Am I obsessed with music b/c I buy every CD I want instead of DL tracks? Not really.-Good for Nothing- wrote:I don't get all this obsession over amvs.

Don't get me wrong...music is a strong passion of mine. My family is heavily music oriented and I myself have turntables to mix my own tracks and make my own CD's to my liking.
However, with some songs...the setting with an AMV makes them infinitely more awesome than the song by itself.
I listen to a lot of prog trance, house, dance, some rock/rap, some alternative. I listen to those in the car day in and out...
certain songs though I could not listen to w/o the AMV attached to it...

i listen to candy pop on my ipod and in the car....
i listen to several "amv songs" outside of watching them in amvs
for the most part the amvs i like have songs i like too (that is what makes them more reviewable), and granted several of them have introduced me to songs and artists i have never heard of before... i dont HAVE to have the amv to listen to it..
for instance Håll Om Mig i had heard long before Hold Me Now and loved it. (though I heard it in a mew mew video...) I listen to it outside of both amvs cause i like the song..
i can say that there are certain songs i refuse to listen to unless theres a good video to go with it but thats because i cant stand the song in the first place
but if there's a good video to it.. i can tolerate it

The same goes for me...AMV's have introduced me to artists I never thought I would find or had heard of...
When I saw Galaxy Bounce and Clear Skies I went out and bought both Andy Hunter CD's and I love them.
Candy Pop is something I like to listen to as well when I can but since I have a hard time buying most music that I can't understand I usually buy the singles or listen to/watch the AMV's
