Best first vid I've ever seen. I guess part of it has to do with time and effort. The more you put in, the better it will be.Orwell wrote:Since every real comment I have to make has been pretty much posted by Oto, I shall declare this topic fail for not yet posting K-type. You all dissappoint me.
First video worthwhile?

It helps if you make the entire segment/video/giant pile of 60 shorts first and send it to the coordinator as your join request. <_<LeeKitten wrote:I wonder if that means it's a good idea to start with a MEP, where the clip is shorter and the concept easier to figure out.Kitsuner wrote:My first video was AMV Hell 3.

Which is saying something considering everyone I've asked about it not from here (since everyone and their dog has seen the thing) agree that most of those were the worst segments in the whole project - though some were damn good as well. Not trying to be an ass or anything, but it does go to show it's rare to be awesome from the get-go.Kitsuner wrote:It helps if you make the entire segment/video/giant pile of 60 shorts first and send it to the coordinator as your join request. <_<LeeKitten wrote:I wonder if that means it's a good idea to start with a MEP, where the clip is shorter and the concept easier to figure out.Kitsuner wrote:My first video was AMV Hell 3.

My first AMV?
*sniggers*
It was a not-well-timed, subbed, worthless piece of crap that would make you tear your eyes out if you watched it kind-of-AMV.
In saying that, I had fun making it.
The most sad fact is, it's the only AMV I have ever publicly released so far, seeing as I'm a perfectionist, but also unmotivated, I tend to start several projects but don't finish them.
For now, I've deleted all but one of my AVMs so i can focus on it and get it done -.-
Oh, and for anyone who's curious or mentally insane, this is my first (and only) AMV

Yeah, a total waste of your precious time, I know. But, don't say I didn't warn you

Well my first AMV can only be described as a sin against nature, and Boxing...and Hajime no ippo.
I don't believe that you need to worry when you first start out. My first couple videos were pretty bad but with each new one, I grasped some new techniques and ideas. Now well my latest video is getting mostly 9s. So I'm positive I got better than I used to be. But you just have to be consistent at attempting to get better.

My first video is on here, and I'm glad it is. It's a bit painful for me to watch now, but it serves as a great starting point for me---I can go down the timeline of my projects and see how they've evolved. I also got some great ops with a lot of solid advice---and that can't hurt.
I've found that a good number of people here are really understanding about it being a first amv and will give you opinions and advice accordingly. Everybody has to start somewhere.
