Vdub....question

Ok, i don't mean to sound like a noob but i dl'd an episode and chopd the clip i wanted in Vdub, but this is where i get lost

How do export/save it while makeing the FILE NOT BECOME HUGE, do i save as AVI or do i save as segementd avi

Under the VIDEO tab the COMPRESSION is highlighted on "Helix YV12YUV Codec"

So why is the file STILL HUGE!!! Im susposed to be compressing it right, can some 1 tell me how to export my 1 min clip without it being huge so i can use it in vegas...

any clip you'll be exporting from Vdub for editting with should be huge, considering it's lossless. Way to combat this would be to use Avisynth files instead of chopping up clips.

disable the audio:

go to streams -> stream list -> disable stream


the file will still be huge, but at least it will be a bit smaller

That would just slow down his PC as hell..


There is no way around those huge files,of course if you want quality and don't want your Vegas to freeze up and crash each time you edit.

Use a lossless codec, preferably a heavily-compressing one like FFV1. Helix YV12 is uncompressed planar YUV.

where is a downloadable ffvfw.dll and the other two files available at ??? tryed four locations that I found and no files exist; only the names!?! 0_o
