I've always wondered what the deal was with this game. I swear it seems like SE released two versions of this game where the only known difference between the two, is that they were formatted differently. Because I can't extract the fmv's from this game either. I've scanned it with nova extractor, and cube media player, but nothing. I've searched through it with a hex editor and it's got no obvious headers. I wouldn't be surprised if they were encoded the same way that ffx's fmvs were. I should check that out.

Well i don't know sayde, perhaps you're right. About the mpeg2 flag error I agree with you hamid_honar that you receive that in cubemediaplayer2 in the US version but thats the fun part. I have three different versions of cubemediaplayer:
CMP1, CMP2 Demo, CMP2 Final. All of these three serve me a purpose.
I scan all the files that give me a flag error with CMP1 and they all show up just fine but they don't decode and endup showing me garbled screens. I then save that playlist of files from CMP1 and import them in CMP2 and where they decode fine. It may be the way both versions scan files on PS2 discs/files.
I then use the CMP2 demo to extract/export them to anything I want, since CMP2 demo was the only version released that had exporting enabled by mistake
(no buying it, so its great). I dunno if you can find it on the internet now though.
There is another thing good about this method, it gives you a clue about the offset of mpeg2 files on the Disc. You can use your own methods to extract them from there on.

Actually there encoded the same way as FFXII. You could simply just add the offsets into the ffxii program created by Project Fao or using my modified ffxii program.sayde wrote:I've always wondered what the deal was with this game. The reason why i added my version is because Project Fao's Version is made for the NTSC version which is decoded to a 29.97fps and my modified version is for the PAL which is 25fps. Although you still could just input the offsets into Project Fao's FFXII extractor but the properties will be read as 29.97fps and also it will make the video playback jerky.

Two problems. I've got no clue how to find the offsets since I don't even know the header values for the fmvs, and I don't know how to plug in those offsets into the ffxii fmv extractor. I tried looking though emuforums message boards, but I still could'nt find instructions on how to do that. Tell me if I need to use another program besides a hex editor, or tell me what values to look for using a hex editor. Because I'm completely lost. better yet, take screen shots and make a mini tutorial of it all.ffxdean wrote:Actually there encoded the same way as FFXII. :S, I can't make my own fmv extract method work
.
But still, What I did can help some people with the right equipment. I downloaded the US complete save from GameFAQS and put that in my memcard, which opens up the extra mode and gives me an option to view all the fmvs and trailers.
I have a great capture card at home so I just hooked the ps2 up with me comp and recorded the fmvs.

I know this isn't much help, but sorry. I was wrong.

Extractor
I usually don't log on to the internet all that much. I don't know how to put websites on this forum, but if you want the extractor go to yahoo or google and then type "DIRGE OF CERBERUS RIPPING TOOL" and a bunch should come up but there is one for MAXCONSOLE.net and if you scroll down after joining it will just allow you to download it. I haven't tried it yet because my laptop with the DVD Player crashed a while back.
