Help!

Post by HakuOfTheMist » Sun Aug 12, 2007 2:29 am

I've been using windows movie maker, but decided I wanted something a little better. Being tight on money at the moment, I picked up pinnacle 10.5. Everything works, eccept when I put two different clips together.

It'll play them but... for example. I have three different clips for my amv. I press play. The first goes through perfectly. Then when it gets to the second. the adiou gets staticy, and the second clip freezes. then when it gets to the third it does the same thing.

I though it might be my cpu, or whatever. But they run smoothly on windows movie maker. What's up? (Sorry if there are any typos. It's 2:30 over here. lol)

thanks.

Why are you using only 3 clips for an amv?.. Unless of course this is a drama.. in which case that's really all you need... Just slow them all way down.

Lol, That was just an example. What I'm saying is, after it gets off the first clip everything acts up.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

.. that happens when they are still in the CODEC's .. turn your clips into RAW's and try it again ^_^

What your fighting is "lack of Memory" [RAM] to decode the Video's and their MP3 Audios.

what is the codec/container of your source files?

to get codec information right-click on the video file, and choose "properties" and click the tab that says "summery" it should be listed next to compression and if that doesnt work, get a program called GSpot and drop the file in it

Ok the codec is XVID, or DivX. I'm not sure which one it is. How do I turn it into a RAW?

Oh also, thanks for the help. ^^

"raw" isnt the correct term for what you want to "turn it into"

you want to reincode it into a lossless format your best bet is virtualdub mod: which can be found in the amvapp
JaddziaDax wrote:open the video file in virtualdub mod go to video->compression->Huffyuv or Lagarith

then go to file->save

THIS WILL CREATE RATHER LARGE FILE SIZES
use those to mark the beginning and the end of the "clips" you want so you can save room
