AMV Announcements

Is it OK to make a new announcement for a video that I announced when I first uploaded it but have since replaced with a better quality version? Or is that thread only for brand new videos?

if you didn't make a thread about the old version, an annoucement now is fine, but if you already made a thread you should just say in that one that you updated it.

When things like asking for downloads on the forum (stated in the forum rules as an action worthy of immediate ban without warning) is responded to by nothing more than a thread lock and a PM from a Mod, i wouldn't be concerned with harsh consequences of any sort if you just did it. The worse that will happen is it'll be locked and more people than probably would have looked at it anyway will click on it just to see why it was locked.

What I've seen people do is announce the better quality version and at the end specifically ask for a lock so replies don't keep the topic alive. I figure that's a decent way to get the word out without bumping actual new videos off the coveted first page.
